Short performance showcasing BBDT’s artistic work.
Special preview of the documentary series “I Feel Myself to be Part of Something,” premiering in November 2025. Directed by award-winning filmmaker, Lou Pepe, this series highlights BBDT’s impactful work with veterans.

PATRIOT’S Path: The Theseus Legacy Encore Performance

Part history, part personal reflection, and all profoundly human, this evening of high art invites audiences to witness the intersection of myth and memory in an immersive, heartfelt exploration of what it means to serve, struggle, and return home.
Black Box Dance Theatre is proud to produce this performance in partnership with United Arts of Wake County, the North Carolina Arts Council, and Brothers and Sisters Like These for the Performing Arts.

Join Black Box Dance Theatre as we prepare for our May performances with a series of Spring Community Drop-In Classes. Learn and collaborate with masterful movers from the company: Cortney Vartanian, Steven James Rodríguez Velez, and Natalie Morton. These classes are designed for pre-professionals/students, professional dancers, as well as K-12 and/or university dance educators.

Marbles Kids Museum Performance

Black Box Dance Theatre is proud to provide free community performances designed to expose children to modern dance styles. This event was produced in collaboration with Marbles Kids Museum of Raleigh, NC to bring live performance and storytelling to local youth, as well as involve audiences with participation opportunities.

BBDT Winter Intensive 2024
December 27-29, 2024
Join Black Box Dance Theatre for our very first Winter Intensive from December 27-29, 2024. Learn and collaborate with founder and Artistic Director, Michelle Pearson, alongside company artists: Natalie Morton, Slim Parker, Steven James Rodríguez Velez, Payton Chopp, Kate Gupton, Alfredo Hurtado, and Marsha Thomas. This 3-day intensive is designed for pre-professionals, professional dancers, as well as K-12 and university dance educators where we will grow in company classes, skill building workshops, and professional development seminars.
